This SMART Notebook offers a variety of activities for Stage Three students to complete to develop their writing skills of both Literary and Factual Text Types. This notebook is designed with Stage 3 (NSW Years 5-6) students in mind, however the content can be adapted to suit other grades. A variety of multimedia tasks are included in this notebook, offering a wide range of opportunities for students to develop their writing and research skills. "Natural Disasters" is the topic that these writing tasks are based upon, therefore this lesson also links to HSIE and Science and Technology.
This lesson is designed to be used with SMART Notebook version 10 or higher. The font used is NSW Foundation Handwriting. If you do not have this font installed some aspects of typed text may appear different to what was intended by the author.
In most cases, the series of tasks in this SMART Notebook would be completed over the duration of a school term on both the SMART Board and on individual student computers with SMART Notebook 10 or SMART Notebook Student Edition loaded.
